Tracy Bender formed Rising Star in January 2016. Tracy has been in the accounting profession for over 10 years.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL and a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Keller Graduate School of Management. Tracy began her career working with her father at his dental practice in Elgin, IL and learned the ins and outs of the dental profession. After learning all the positions in the dental office she continued on to manage the practice and handle all of the bookkeeping for the office.  This is how she found her passion for accounting.  Tracy has continued to handle the books for her father’s dental practice while pursuing a career in accounting.  While in school Tracy accepted a position at Bourn Companies, a commercial real estate developer, investment, and property/asset management organization in Tucson, AZ, as an accounts payable clerk where she worked alongside the accountants working on various projects

After obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in accounting she joined Mueller & Co., a CPA firm that offered a variety of services in Elgin, IL, as a Staff Accountant.  There she was able to develop her accounting skills working on a variety of companies across different industries doing the bookkeeping and accounting.  At Mueller she worked on various projects with the forensic accountant in addition to her daily activities of accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end closing, and compiling financial statements. Today, Tracy has started Rising Star Accounting Services, LLC.  Although she has extensive knowledge in the dental field she welcomes all types of industries to provide individual, quality accounting and bookkeeping services.  “My goal is to help businesses succeed by taking the pressure of handling the books off their shoulders so they can concentrate their efforts on what they really want to do which is run their business.”
